I've always been awe struck by the grit and bravery the pioneers had in picking up and took steps in a new totally direction to Oregon. California and Utah (west). Many of these people had large covered wagons and much of their items were needed to be able to homestead and be successful. The ones that I marvel about were the pioneers that carried 80 lbs of food and supplies (most grain and other not very appetising food) while they pushed these cumbersome unruly heavy carts. Many of these people were single women with young families in tow. Amazing!! These brave souls were the fantastic generation that really helped this nation become great. Let's keep it up.
